DEEPEARTH is a computer simulation, which allows users to interact with a geological environment. They can dispose of topographic or geologic maps and can perform drillings to discover the structure of the underground formations or the locations of some ore deposits. When this first phase of investigation is over, three more powerful tools become available, namely cross-sections, structural maps and block diagrams, to allow comparisons between what the students assume to be the hidden underground and what is in fact the "real" thing.

MINERAL VENTURE is an interactive computer simulation, which allows students and geologists to participate in a mineral exploration campaign where all the different aspects of this kind of enterprise are taken into account: geological, technical, financial. The only difference with an actual exploration is that time is compressed for field actions; these are performed instantaneously by the computer. The interpretation of results and the decision-making remain in a real time-frame. Many geologists around the globe worked on their first mining exploration with Mineral Venture as students!
